Bellwoods
Excelsior Firehall The TUCKAHOE STREET FAIR was established in 1985. It is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to provide a market for local craftspeople, churches, civic and school groups to sell their handmade/homemade wares. Two original goals of the TSF have already been met. They were to get citizens interested in the 1988 Centennial and to see the Bell House Mansion restored. Other on-going goals are to encourage youths creative talents, provide a learning experience in artistic skills and to present local historical information. The TSF is traditionally held the first Saturday of October. From 1994 through 1998 we were fortunate to be able to use the Bell House Mansion and grounds for our celebration. When 1999 rolled around the Bell Mansion Apartments were in the final stages of being built and we arranged to hold the event at the new Bellwood Excelsior Fire Department buildings and grounds. This new sight provides additional space under roof in case of inclement weather and offers more parking away from busy streets. We look forward to seeing you at the Tuckahoe Street Fair this autumn. Whether youre behind a table offering your own personal craft or food creations, or just milling around taking in the sights, sounds, and aromas of the fair, we think you'll be glad you spent some time at this special community event! |
