Us This photo of the Tipton Reservoir dam was taken off the edge of State Route 4023 and graphically demonstrates its depth. While its width at the dam is narrower than the Bellwood Reservoir, its noticably deeper. The relative nearness to the roadway of the wide spillway makes the heavy runoff of spring quite a noisy affair. Each step or row of stone is approximately three feet high. Photographed in late summer, theres little water left to escape over the spillway after the water treatment plant immediately downstream gets its share via an underground pipeline. A
