Located about 100 yards north of the mansion along Main Street, this log home was build by the Bells around 1805 and is probably one of the oldest dwellings in northern Blair County still in use. It served as home to the family until the mansion was built in 1822. The joinery that forms the log corners of the house would be a challenge to duplicate with today’s power tools, let alone the hand tools of nearly 200 years ago.
